When Daichi Hashimoto successfully defended his Big Japan Pro-Wrestling World Strong Heavyweight Championship on Aug. 24th against Leyton Buzzard, fans immediately began to wonder who would be the next challenger for Hashimoto.
Hashimoto didn’t make fans at the Aichi Toyoda Gosei Memorial Gymnasium wait long as the BJW Strong Champion nominated Shuji Ishikawa as his next challenger. The crowd in attendance reacted positively to the nomination of Ishikawa by Hashimoto.
BJW made the match official as Hashimoto will defend his championship against Ishikawa on Sept. 14th at Korakuen Hall.
Ishikawa will be attempting to regain the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Championship that he last held over 10 years ago. He held the title from Dec. 12th 2014 through March 31st 2015 before losing it to Daisuke Sekimoto. Ishikawa is also a former AJPW Triple Crown Champion and former DDT Pro KO-D Openweight Champion.
