After weeks of speculation, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has confirmed that EVIL will be leaving the promotion at the end of January.
NJPW released a statement via their website to announce the departure.
From NJPW:
“Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling. After careful consideration and discussions with NJPW management, EVIL, who has been a long standing member of the NJPW roster will leave New Japan Pro-Wrestling at the expiry of his contract at the end of January 2026. We apologise to fans for the sudden nature of this announcement. New Japan Pro-Wrestling wishes EVIL the very best in his future activities.”
EVIl has been with NJPW since 2011 and has held numerous titles within the promotion including the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, IWGP Tag Team Championship, IWGP Intercontinental Championship and most recently the NEVER Openweight Title.
EVIL had been the leader of the House of Torture faction for a number of years within NJPW.
It has been heavily rumoured that EVIL could be heading to the WWE but that remains pure speculation.
