Arisu Endo Wants a Sakazaki Singles Match and a Finisher for Every Wrestler

By: Thom Fain

The Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling wrestler explains her training under Shuji Kondo, and why avoiding injury comes first.

Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling’s Arisu Endo says she wants a singles match with Yuka Sakazaki, the wrestler she calls her ideal, and that her goal is to hit her finisher on every wrestler, according to the second part of an interview published recently by FITNESS LOVE.

Endo has not yet beaten Sakazaki. They met in a singles match four months after Endo’s debut, and Endo lost, but she says the match made her want to improve on the spot. They wrestled several tag matches before Sakazaki moved to the United States, and reunited in a tag match in January 2025, their first in two years. Endo says she still wasn’t enough.

Her finisher, 什の掟 (Ju no Okite), lifts the opponent in a manner similar to an Argentine backbreaker, then spins and drops them into a shoulder neckbreaker. The heaviest wrestler she has hit it on is DDT’s Ikki Hirata, listed at 172 cm and 78 kg. She could not lift Aja Kong. She managed only a water-wheel drop, and Aja got up quickly, which Endo took as a sign it did little damage.

Endo trains at the personal gym of Shuji Kondo (48), a former WRESTLE-1 (and sometimes NOAH) wrestler who is also Marigold’s chief coaching director. Kondo partners with “Icon” Mayu Iwatani, a player-coach. He is Marigold’s main technical instructor, a job he has done since last year.

“The Aizu Girl Who Saves People With Her Smile” started training with Kondo much earlier than other wrestlers, before her TJPW debut. She says she found him intimidating at first and learned that Reika Saiki had trained with him too. The early sessions were hard – she needed help with an empty barbell shaft – but went daily despite having little money, taking notes on his instructions.

Staying healthy is Endo’s priority.

Endo says she has had a lumbar strain and a knee injury from lifting too much, and now holds back from heavy lifts she thinks she could handle, especially before important matches. After watching Sakazaki add size, she began building her shoulders as well as her legs, and Kondo built a menu that balances that with explosive power.

Endo is known as TJPW’s happy-go-lucky competitor from Fukushima, and her first singles win came a year after her debut.

She says she wants more visible arm muscle, because people are surprised by her small frame when she tells them she is a wrestler. Endo explains in the interview that wrestling her calling.

Arisu Endo’s fans can catch her in the main event at TJPW INSPIRATION on Oct 14, streaming VOD on Wrestle Universe. She was recently announced as part of Tokyo Story USA’s “Texas Stampede II” event running Dec. 4-6 in the Lone Star State.
