AJPW Superstar Yuma Anzai Celebrates His Fourth Anniversary as a Pro-Wrestler, Issues a Heartfelt Comment

All Japan Pro-Wrestling superstar Yuma Anzai celebrated his fourth year as a professional wrestler on Sept. 18th and is looking forward to his fifth as a competitor.

Anzai was recruited for AJPW by legend Suwama following his graduation from Chuo University after being a amateur wrestling standout. Anzai joined the AJPW dojo in April 2022 and officially became a member of the AJPW roster.

After undergoing rigorous training from Suwama and NJPW legend Yuji Nagata, Anzai made his debut for AJPW on Sept. 18th 2022 at the All Japan Pro Wrestling 50th Anniversary event in front of nearly 5,000 fans at Nippon Budokan. Anzai’s first opponent was his trainer Yuji Nagata and despite showing great potential, Nagata’s experience was too much for Anzai and he emerged victorious in under 10 minutes.

In four short years, Anzai has become one of the cornerstones of AJPW and he has become a true superstar in the world of professional wrestling. The biggest accomplishment of his career was when defeated Katsuhiko Nakajima on Mar. 3oth 2024 for the AJPW Triple Crown Title. He became the youngest wrestler to win that prestigious championship at the age of 24 years and 320 days old breaking Kento Miyahara’s record of 24 years and 350 days.

To celebrate his fourth year in pro-wrestling, Anzai issued a heartfelt comment on social media:

“Today marks the fourth anniversary of my debut! I truly believe I’ve given it my all, taken on all kinds of challenges, and been able to share my pro wrestling—and All Japan Pro Wrestling—with so many people. And that’s all thanks to the support of so many of you!! I’ll continue to give it my all in my fifth year as well, so please continue to support me!! (English translation via Deepl.com)

It’s a safe bet that Yuma Anzai will be the AJPW Triple Crown Champion once again and will be THE face of AJPW for the next decade and beyond.

Anzai is set to face Yuma Aoyagi in a highly anticipated semifinal Royal Road Tournament 2026 bout on Sept. 22nd.
