Mina Shirakawa will attempt to fulfill a promise she made to 29 year old komusubi sumo wrestler Wakamotoharu Minato, of the Arashio stable. Last Wednesday, the leader of Club Venus took her teammates to meet Minato for a special feature in the upcoming 2023 edition of the STARDOM Official Fanbook, and she felt inspired after seeing the sumo wrestlers train.
On the 15th, Shirakawa went on to divorce Club Venus from Tam Nakano’s Cosmic Angels unit, also recruiting Waka Tsukiyama. “The Powerbomb to your Heart” explained that she would take everything she learned from Nakano to raise her own protègès to become champions and the first step in her quest is to become a champion herself. It turns out that these words were already spoken by her to Wakamotoharu Minato in the form of a vow.

Shirakawa revealed that after her frustrating injury last November, she found motivation after becoming infatuated by sumo wrestling on TV, which she watched lots of during her recovery time. “The Venus” stated that it was the main reason for her to make such a determined comeback and sacrifice her allies in Cosmic Angels to bet on herself and Club Venus.
“I visited the Arashio stable, and everyone trained hard until they threw up,” revealed Mina, “I remembered that in order to become strong, you have to train just as hard.” With a renewed spirit, Shirakawa promised Minato that the next time she would see him, it would be as a Wonder of Stardom Champion. Shirakawa will attempt to end Saya Kamitani nearly record-breaking white belt reign this Sunday at Yokohama Arena.
