INTERVIEW: Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Kenoh/Takashi Sugiura and Satoshi Kojima

Pro Wrestling NOAH’s New Year is shaping up, and these videos are hyping up the show!

The January 1st Nippon Budokan spectacle has been the talk of the town on Pro Wrestling NOAH, and the company has decided to release interview videos with some of the protagonists of the night.

The GHC Heavyweight Champion Kaito Kiyomiya will face Kongo’s leader Kenoh for the belt, and the things he said about this match are noteworthy.

—Kaito Kiyomiya’s message to KENOH

“I’ve fought you many times before, but this time, at Nippon Budokan on New Year’s Day, I won’t give up. Go ahead and take this belt away from me, if you can. I’m the one who will take NOAH to Budokan. I will never lose to you. I’m the one who will take NOAH all the way.”

The former GHC Heavyweight Champion, and Kiyomiya’s biggest rival, was as harsh as his opponent with his comments, and he even said Kaito is not worthy of being a champion.

—Is Kiyomiya worthy of being a champion?

“He can’t become a god. I think Kiyomiya can become someone to look up to, but he’s just a YouTuber. A YouTuber, that’s number-one on the list of jobs kids want to be today. That’s why he started a YouTube channel. But the GHC Heavyweight Champion isn’t like that. You have to become a god.”

Pro Wrestling NOAH also released an exclusive interview with the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Takashi Sugiura and Satoshi Kojima, while they wait for their biggest title defense to date, against the duo of Naomichi Marufuji and KENTA. Unlike Kenoh and Kiyomiya, the Tag champions were respectful with their opponents, but the message was as clear as it could get.

Takashi Sugiura: MaruKEN really built up that one period of pro wrestling; they really were are a ‘big-name’ team, but that’s in the past.”

Satoshi Kojima: We’re fighting for the now and the future.”

NOAH’s New Year will be the show the company needs to enter a new era, and we will see if the future is bright for the company!
