555 fans gathered at the Takaoka Techno Dome in Toyama on October 18th to celebrate 15 years since the debut of TEAM 2000X’s Chairman Masa Kitamiya.
Kitamiya received the red-carpet treatment here in his home town, where he and Takashi Sugiura took on Yoshiki Inamura and Shane Haste in the show’s main event.
Prior to the bout, Kitamiya’s former tag partner, Yoshiki Inamura, attempted to give the Chairman a bouquet of flowers. Kitamiya initially rejected the token of respect before accepting it and taking the bouquet into the crowd where he regifted it to his father and mother, who were on hand to support their son on this momentous occasion.
Kitamiya had the full support of the crowd here in his anniversary match, with him and Sugiura picking up the win over the two former GHC Heavyweight Champions in just over twenty minutes. A chair shot from Sugiura to Inamura allowed Kitamiya to hit a Saito suplex onto Inamura for a two-count, followed by his signature diving senton off the top rope to score the win.
After the match, Kitamiya got on the microphone and declared the Chairman’s orders to the crowd. Kitamiya demanded the members of the audience buy a shirt, get it autographed, and go home.
Elsewhere on the card, GHC Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito and the rest of LTJ were victorious over the TEAM 2000X trio of OZAWA, Alpha Wolf, and Tadasuke prior to the show’s semi main event. After Naito hit Destino on Tadasuke, he was able to score the pinfall victory for his team, building up momentum before his GHC Heavyweight Championship defense against OZAWA on October 25th at WRESTLE ODYSSEY II.
