Uta Takami Challenges Suzume for the International Princess Title at TJPW All Rise

By: Noah Leatherland

After reaching a stalemate at TJPW Inspiration, Uta Takami laid out a challenge to reigning International Princess Champion, Suzume. The match has now been made official, with the two set to fight for the gold at TJPW All Rise on November 8th.

In the main event of the show at TOKYOSQUARE in Itabashi, Suzume teamed with her Daisy Monkey partner, Arisu Endo. Together, they faced the youngster duo of Uta Takami and Haru Kazashiro. With twenty minutes on the clock, the four women went right to the limit. Suzume and Takami were in the midst of trading holds as the timer expired. Takami took to the microphone after the bout, with Suzume responding to the challenge.

Takami:

Suzume! I want to challenge for that belt! Please let me challenge for that belt!

Suzume:

I haven’t had nearly enough of this either. I’m sure we can still fight. If you want this belt that badly, let’s go all the way until we settle this once and for all. Let’s settle this one-on-one for this belt on November 8 at Korakuen Hall… I absolutely intend to knock out Uta Takami.

Both champion and challenger expanded on their feelings in their backstage comments.

Takami:

It just popped into my head during the match, so I blurted it out. Now that I’ve said it, I’m definitely going to win that belt! … [Suzume]’s such a cool senior. She’s like someone I look up to. I want to be like that someday, too.

Suzume:

Takami has been working hard lately in pro wrestling, as an idol, and as a model, and she’s someone I really want to root for. I have such a strong desire to cheer her on. But after fighting her today—no matter how many times I knocked her down, she just kept getting back up. I want to fight her even more.

TJPW All Rise takes place on November 8th in Korakuen Hall.

TJPW Inspiration kicked off with another opening round bout in the Next Generation Tournament. Shion Kanzaki scored just the second singles win of her career, defeating the rookie Chieri Sakimori. Kanzaki will face Ren Konatsu in the next round on October 24th. Speaking backstage, Kanzaki was full of determination:

This is my first time competing in the NextGen Tournament this year. I guess my next match will be a singles match against Konatsu? I only have memories of losing to Konatsu in singles, so I’m going to beat her this time, and I want to keep winning and winning with this momentum to aim for the tournament championship!
