Chihiro Hashimoto retained the Sendai Girls World Championship on Oct 10 at Sendai Sunplaza Hall, pinning Spike Nishimura with a powerbomb after looking too hurt to continue at one point.
It was her ninth defense since she beat Meiko Satomura for the belt on Mar 19, 2025, a reign now 570 days old. The title match was the main event, with a 30-minute limit.
Hashimoto appeared to be hurt during the match, and for a stretch the crowd, close to a sellout, seemed ready to count her out. She pulled herself back into it and hit the powerbomb for the three count. Fans watching said the same. One wrote that she “retained her title even when it seemed like she was too hurt to continue the match at one point”. Another described “the injured champ having to balance not injuring herself more vs making sure she wins and retains”.
Nishimura earned the shot by beating Miyuki Takase on Sept 14 and Mika Iwata on Sept 18. She had won the Junior title on Jul 12 and vacated it on Aug 28 at the three-year career cutoff. Hashimoto beat her in a 12:20 non-title singles match on Aug 1.
Nishimura debuted for Sendai Girls in October 2024 after wrestling in the US while working a full-time job. She lost that job in early 2025 and took Sendai Girls’ offer to train in Japan. In April she told Monthly Puroresu she had no timeline for challenging Hashimoto and wanted a few singles wins first.

Hashimoto’s next date is Oct 17 at Nishitetsu Hall in Fukuoka, where she and Yurika Oka face Red Energy’s Mika Iwata and Miyuki Takase in the main event. Nishimura faces Lady Lee on the same card. Sendai Girls returns to Korakuen Hall on Nov 22, live on Wrestle Universe.
