paleyouth Win KO-D Tag Team Titles as DDT Says Goodbye to Shinjuku FACE

DDT ran Shinjuku FACE for one final time before the venue’s closure, with a pair of title matches punctuating the card. While Shunma Katsumata kept hold of the DDT Extreme Title, a new set of KO-D Tag Team Champions were crowned.

Junta Miyawaki and Shinya Aoki won the tag titles back at Wrestle Peter Pan, and made their first successful defence at Last Summer’s Standing. They came into Shinjuku FACE and stepped across the ring from a pair of paleyouth members, Takeshi Masada and Yuya Koroku. As former trios champions, Masada and Koroku were sure to be a tough test for the champions.

In a close contest, the final moments saw Miyawaki trying again and again to but Masada away. The challenger kept kicking out, until finally, Masada powered up and landed his fisherman buster. The slam kept Miyawaki down for the three count and paleyouth were crowned as the new KO-D Tag Team Champions.

paleyouth could not celebrate for long, as they were confronted by freelancers Soma Takao and Shota, the team of Romance Dawn. They laid out the challenge, and the new champions accepted. It has been confirmed that the title match is set for October 18th at DDT Wrestling Harvest.

The main event of DDT Final FACE saw Strange Love Connection win a 16-person elimination four-way tag. After the bout, the ring filled even more to say goodbye to Shinjuku FACE. Members of the DDT roster took turns sharing memories, with the show ending with Sanshiro Takagi and Jun Akiyama presenting venue manager Ms. Ogawa with a bouquet of flowers.
