Kento Miyahara vs. Yuma Anzai for AJPW Triple Crown Title Made Official For Aug. 29

Triple Crown Champion Kento Miyahara’s next defense of his title is now official.

All Japan Pro-Wrestling announced today that Miyahara will be making his ninth defense of his seventh reign as champion against former Triple Crown Titleholder, Yuma Anzai.

The championship bout is set for Aug. 29th at AJPW “SUMMER ACTION WARS 2026” inside EBARA WAVE Arena in Ota City.

On July 25th, after defeating Ren Ayabe, Miyahara was confronted by Anzai who proclaimed himself to be the ninth challenger for Miyahara. Anzai suggested they meet on Aug. 29th at AJPW “SUMMER ACTION WARS 2026” and now that match is official.

After the announcement was made, both Miyahara and Anzai released statements on X as each vowed to be victorious on Aug. 29th.

From Kento Miyahara:

“Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship Match Set. August 29 will be the hottest day in the sports world. Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship Match <Champion> Kento Miyahara vs. Yuma Anzai <Challenger>. I won’t lose. Please come out to the arena to cheer me on.”

From Yuma Anzai:

“8.29: The Triple Crown Match at EBARA WAVE Arena Ota has been confirmed. I’m definitely going to win the belt. I’ll show you the coolest sight in the world, so just keep your eyes on me.”

Anzai held the Triple Crown Title from March 30th 2024 through Aug. 17th 2024 and is hoping to wear the coveted belt for a second time.

Earlier in the year, Miyahara indicated that he would like to make a record eighteen straight Triple Crown Title defenses and he will be halfway there if he can get past Yuma Anzai on Aug. 29th.
