Saya Kamitani States That She May Grant A Singles Bout To Utami Hayashishita If That Is What She Really Desires

Back on May 26th, Utami Hayashishita made her return to STARDOM after spending two years with Marigold. Hayashishita immediately set her sights on Saya Kamitani upon her return to the promotion where she got her start as a pro-wrestler.

On June 6th, Kamitani & Hayashishita had an in-ring confrontation following an eight woman tag team bout in which Hayashishita challenged Kamitani to a match. Kamitani stated that if Hayashishita got on her knees and begged she would would fight her.

On June 20th, Hayashishita pinned Kamitani in an eight woman tag team bout which added more fuel to the fire of a potential singles bout between the two superstars.

During her post-match backstage interview at the June 30th STARDOM NIGHTER IN KORAKUEN 2026 JUNE event in which Hayashishita unsuccessfully challenged Suzu Suzuki for the World of STARDOM Title, Kamitani stated she may consider granting a singles bout to Hayashishita if she really desires it.

From Saya Kamitani:

“She said she wanted to fight me, but it feels like she’s already running off to some other woman. She pinned me in Yoyogi because of an accidental hit from (Momo) Watanabe, so is she already satisfied with that? Don’t be looking elsewhere. The packed Korakuen and the huge cheers are the results of everyone in STARDOM working hard for the past two years. If you’re getting conceited, feeling good about yourself, and are satisfied with that, then that’s fine, isn’t it? STARDOM is moving fast these days, things are happening at a dizzying pace, and there are all sorts of opportunities. Just don’t lose sight of your original purpose. If Utami eagerly desires it, I might consider giving it to her (a singles match).” (Source: Tokyo Sports. H/T goes to meraWRESTLING for all English quote translations.)

While the fans are clamouring for a singles bout between Kamitani & Hayashishita, here is something to think about: What if the highly anticipated singles match between the two occurs during the finals of the upcoming 5★STAR GP 2026 tournament? It could very well happen which in turn would create a new level of excitement for STARDOM fans.
