Callum Newman Reportedly Injured at NJPW DOMINION 2026

By: Lewis Carlan

Former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Callum Newman was reportedly injured during his main event bout against Yota Tsuji at the June 14th New Japan Pro-Wrestling DOMINION 2026 event. Newman entered the match as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion but lost the coveted belt to Tsuji.

According to Bryan Alvarez at the Wrestling Observer, Newman injured his shoulder which likely occurred on the belly to belly suplex into the corner late into the bout. Alvarez stated that it is believed to be a dislocated shoulder and Newman is expected to get an MRI to determine how severe the injury is.

From Bryan Alvarez:

“Callum Newman injured his shoulder, likely on a belly-to-belly into the corner. They popped it back in but it’s believed to be a dislocation, and he’ll be getting an MRI probably today to determine the severity.”

As of this writing, NJPW has not confirmed the reported injury to Callum Newman.

Monthly Puroresu will keep an eye on this development and will provide more details as they become available.
