Sareee and Hazuki Announced for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on AEW Dynamite

By Noah Leatherland

Forbidden Door season is getting underway, with the first taste coming via the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The brackets were revealed on AEW Dynamite, featuring a pair of joshi stars.

In the opening round, Hazuki will make her AEW debut. She has competed against a lot of talent from CMLL already in 2026, and will continue to do so in the tournament. Hazuki has been drawn against the reigning CMLL Women’s Champion, Persephone. This will be the first singles encounter between the two. Their only previous meeting was in the CMLL International Women’s Grand Prix Torneo Cybernetico last year.

On the opposite side of the bracket, Skye Blue is set to face The Sun God, Sareee. Notably, Sareee has just announced that she will be taking time off to recover from a neck injury. Although this puts doubt on whether she will actually be able to compete in the Owen Cup, the time frame could still work out. Sareee stated she would be taking a month to recover. With Forbidden Door just over a month away, Sareee’s involvement in the tournament is still possible. Sareee appeared in Ring of Honor last year, but this would be her full AEW debut.

The rest of the bracket features some STARDOM alumni. The current NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Alex Windsor is set to face the TBS Champion Willow Nightingale. Mina Shirakawa has also been drawn against Athena in the opening round.

The tournament finals will take place at Forbidden Door on June 28th in San Jose, CA.
