Knockout Brothers Defeat Bishamon to Retain IWGP Tag Titles At NJPW Wrestling Redzone In Hiroshima

On April 25th, New Japan Pro Wrestling held its Wrestling Redzone In Hiroshima event at the Hiroshima Sun Plaza, with 2,053 fans in attendance. The main event of the evening saw Bishamon challenge the Knockout Brothers for the IWGP Tag Team Championships.

Bishamon, the team of Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI, earned the right to challenge for the IWGP Tag Titles on April 20th after defeating United Empire’s Great-O-Khan and Henare at Road To Wrestling Dontaku 2026, day 2 in Korakuen Hall.

During the main event on April 25th, Knockout Brothers and Bishamon had the crowd divided at the start of the match, with cheers for both teams filling the Hiroshima Sun Plaza. Both teams did not disappoint, putting on an instant classic that saw the challengers give everything they had in an attempt to take the tag titles from the clutches of the Knockout Brothers.

It was ultimately the Knockout Brothers who walked away with the victory at (26:32) after hitting the KOB on YOSHI-HASHI to secure their 6th successful defense of the IWGP Tag Titles.

During their post-match comments, Knockout Brothers would give their thoughts on what’s next for them as IWGP Tag Team Champions.

“What’s next? You know what it is, right? The next title defense, the next record. We’ve only just begun. We, K.O.B., will stay at the top.”

From Yuto Ice:

Elsewhere on the card, the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles were on the line with Taiji Ishimori and Robbie X defending the championships against Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita in the semi-main event.

It was ultimately Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita picking up the win in just over 20 minutes after Eagles hit Ishimori with a Ron Miller Special. This is Eagles and Fujita’s 3rd time capturing the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles since joining forces as Ichiban Sweet Boys back in 2023.
