New Japan Pro-Wrestling is set to hold it’s King Of Pro-Wrestling 2025 event at Ryogoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo on Oct. 13th with the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. making his third defense against the winner of the G1 Climax 35 tournament, Konosuke Takeshita.
Before we get to Oct. 13th, NJPW will present a series of events aptly named Road To King of Pro-Wrestling 2025 which kicks off on Oct. 4th. Two title matches will be featured on the Road To King of Pro-Wrestling 2025 mini tour.
The IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship will be defended on Oct. 6th at Korakuen Hall as the current champion El Desperado will make his ninth defense against former champion HOUSE OF TORTURE’s DOUKI. Desperado defeated DOUKI back on Jan. 4th for the title after the referee stopped the match due to DOUKI suffering a dislocated shoulder. DOUKI has called Desperado a “fake champion” and will be looking to regain the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship on Oct. 6th.

On Oct. 11th, which is the final Road To King of Pro-Wrestling 2025 event, El Desperado & DOUKI will be involved in another title bout. The IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Titles will be on the line as the champions DOUKI & SHO will face the challenge of El Desperado & KUUKAI. This will be the third defense of the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Titles by the HOUSE OF TORTURE duo of DOUKI & SHO since winning the belts back in June 2025.
KUUKAI is a graduate of Michinoku Pro Wrestling and will be making his NJPW debut on the Road To King of Pro-Wrestling 2025 tour.
