With the STARDOM 5★STAR GP in the books, the joshi promotion were back with an event in Korakuen Hall. As well as an action-packed card, STARDOM handed out the tournament awards to those who impressed over the summer.
Maki Itoh has been attempting to make her “Itoh Respect Army” an official unit with STARDOM since May 2026. Back in July, the “Itoh Respect Army”, which consists of Maki Itoh, Kikyo Furusawa & Rian, ambushed STARDOM President Taro Okada in his office with signs reading “Make Itoh Respect Army An Official Unit”
On September 5th, Pro Wrestling ZERO1 returned to TOKYO SQUARE in Itabashi, where a new member of the roster was added in the form of Koji Doi.
Top teams from two joshi promotions are on course to collide in London on October 2nd. At Pro Wrestling EVE’s Global Thunder Queens Attack, Sendai Girls’s Anita Vaughan and Safire Reed will face off with ChocoPro’s Mei Suruga and Emi Sakura.
On Aug. 16th, New Japan Pro-Wrestling saw the return of a powerhouse superstar as Jeff Cobb made an appearance in the promotion for over a year. Cobb’s had left NJPW was back in April 2025 to join the WWE where he wrestled under the name JC Mateo as part of The Bloodline.
NJPW are back after the G1 Climax, taking the first steps down the Road to Destruction with an event in Utsunomiya. After suffering a concussion back in the opening bout of the G1, Shota Umino was back in action.
TJPW kicked off their fall tour with the Ray of Hope in Yokohama, starting the road to Wrestle Princess VII. In Yokohama, the next challengers for the Princess Tag Team Championships were decided as Haru Kazashiro and Yuki Aino earned their shot.
The AJPW Royal Road Tournament 2026 kicks off on Sept. 9th and one of the opening night first round bouts will see AJPW Triple Crown Champion Kento Miyahara taking on Pro Wrestling Up Town’s Hyo Ogawa.
The All Japan Pro-Wrestling Royal Road Tournament 2026 is set to begin at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stella Ball on Sept. 9th. A number of first round matches are scheduled for the opening night of the AJPW annual elimination tournament.
Korakuen Hall is arguably the epicentre of the puroresu scene in Tokyo and beyond. Having been hosting pro wrestling and boxing events since the 1960s, Korakuen Hall is set to undergo renovations at the start of 2027.
