With all the unexpected and sudden retirements in the world of joshi puroresu in 2023, some much needed good news was brought to the world right at the end of the year as Yuuki Mashiro has announced her intentions to return to professional wrestling. She originally retired from wrestling to persue a medical career as a nurse.
Her announcement was made at Ribbon Mania 2023 today, and she will be returning at Ice Ribbon’s Korakuen Hall show on January 27th.
Mashiro is a former Triangle Ribbon champion, holding the title for 349 days and most of the 2022 year over six successful defences. She vacated the championship after her retirement match against Suzu Suzuki at last year’s Ribbon Mania event. Since then the title has not been active, leaving the Infinity Championship as the company’s only active singles title.
Ice Ribbon recently announced on December 12 that they were were now part of Project R under Rebellions Co., Ltd, with the company now being known as Ice Ribbon Inc.
