All Japan Pro-Wrestling superstar Yuma Aoyagi is set to return to in-ring action on Mar. 15th after serving a three month suspension.
Aoyagi was involved in a traffic accident on Nov. 23rd 2025 in Numazu City. Aoyagi was reported to have run a red light which caused the collision. While Aoyagi was not injured, the driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with a discomfort in their leg.
It was discovered that Aoyagi was driving with an expired license. AJPW took action and suspended Aoyagi until Feb. 28 2026 with a 50% reduction in pay as well as 3 months house arrest.
Aoyagi had been found guilty of Negligent Driving Causing Injury as per AJPW.
AJPW announced today, following discussions with Aoyagi, they were satisfied that sufficient remorse and reflection had been demonstrated. As a result, the three month suspension and 50% pay reduction had been lifted.
Aoyagi released a statement on X earlier today.
From Yuma Aoyagi:
“We sincerely apologize for the immense inconvenience caused to the victim, fans, organizations, and sponsors. This incident occurred due to my lack of awareness as a member of society, and I deeply regret it. Moving forward, I will focus on each task before me and strive to rebuild trust.” (Translation via Deepl)
In his first match back, Aoyagi will face Hideki Suzuki on Mar. 15th at AJPW Dream Power Series 2026 at Korakuen Hall. The bout will be held on the event pre-show.
