Yoshiki Inamura vows to carry NOAH’s flag against NJPW

Watch out for the “The MAX Man!”

YOSHIKI INAMURA partners with Keiji Muto for third Retirement Road bout at Ariake Arena on 10.30.22!

By J. Curbelo

10.30.22: Yoshiki Inamura was selected as the partner of the Keiji Muto Retirement Road trios tag team match at Ariake Arena this weekend. Armed with the power cultivated through his blessed physique and hard work, he has steadily built up his ability and achievements in NOAH in recent years. As his stock rises from inside and outside the ring, fans wonder how he’ll do in the match, standing shoulder to shoulder with legends.

Interview below from Pro Wrestling NOAH Official YouTube Channel.

―Keiji Muto was selected you as a partner for the Retirement Road.

Yoshiki Inamura: “It is an honor. I feel very honored.”

―Ariake Arena is the birthplace of NOAH. Do you have any thoughts on
that?

Yoshiki Inamura: “The place where NOAH was born, the land where NOAH has been making history all along, such a place. I’m really happy to be able to play at the big venue called Ariake Arena. It’s the first time Ariake Arena will host pro wrestling, isn’t it? So, I want to cooperate with my teammates, but I also want to show my presence there.”

―Please tell us what you think about Keiji Muto.

Yoshiki Inamura: “When I fought him before, for the first time, I felt that he was really strong. It’s like being above the clouds. I’ve been wrestling since I was born. Facing him is one more time is a dream.”

―So, what are your thoughts on New Japan Pro-Wrestling?

Yoshiki Inamura: “I think they are also really amazing. Mr. Muto, who belongs to NOAH, has been supporting NOAH for a long time. Mr. Marufuji, and myself, who is still young, representing NOAH, three of us teamed up together, and in a great place, in a great situation. Our opponent is NJPW. New Japan’s players competed in this year’s New Year, (vs. KENTA) and later (at 1.8.21 Yokohama Arena). I made contact with KENTA twice, and of course I knew it’d be amazing. I know that, but I am also proud that I fought representing NOAH. That’s victory. I think it is absolutely necessary (just representing NOAH). Even in the sense of teaming with Mr. Muto’s Retirement Road. Ariake, and in the sense that we are wrestling in such a special place, I think it is absolutely necessary to win. With my big body, all of my big power, I want to hit my opponent so hard that they break.”

―Please tell us your impression of Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Yoshiki Inamura: “I have the impression that it he has always supported and pulled for New Japan. I have seen him fighting at the top ever since he started, and more importantlyl, I have seen him live on TV. I have the impression that he’s a star, or rather, he is a brilliant wrestler.”

―What do you think about Tomoaki Homma?

Yoshiki Inamura: “He’s a tough, sturdy and strong person. Mr. Homma originally did hardcore and deathmatches, and in New Japan, I saw him in so many strong, strong matches all the time. I have the impression that he is a solid and strong wrestler.”

―How about Togi Makabe?

Yoshiki Inamura: “His pro-wrestling style is brutality. We’ve never met, and, of course, we’ve never had a match. But the fear or power that comes through watching videos of his matches, that’s a real wrestler. My impression is that he is a great wrestler. In terms of power, I’ve always been a wrestler. Even in Japan, I am aiming to eventually become the best power-fighter in the world, so I am very excited. If we have to start grappling or trading blows, if you really take a step back, I want to push and punch each other with the feeling that I am the loser, I’m fighting from behind.”

―So, Mr. Inamura, would you like to say something to the fans?

Yoshiki Inamura: “Dear New Japan fans: I’m bigger than I was 10 months ago. I’m the big guy who all New Japan’s wrestlers wanna destroy. Thank you. Dear NOAH fans: Yoshiki Inamura, who grew up in Pro Wrestling NOAH, will meet everyone’s expectations in Ariake! To Muto’s fans, Yoshiki Inamura is next to Mr. Muto, his third Retirement Road match. We will fight harder and harder! Thank you! ”
