Will Ospreay States That He Became A True Man While In Japan

By: Lewis Carlan

On February 11th at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s The New Beginning in Osaka, long time superstar Will Ospreay will be competing in his final match for the promotion before he heads off to be a full time member of the AEW roster. Ospreay will be featured in the main event as he teams with fellow United Empire faction members Jeff Cobb, HENARE, TJP & Francesco Akira as they face the Bullet Club War Dogs in an encounter that is being billed as “Dog Pound Cage Match”. The team that will be representing Bullet Club War Dogs are David Finlay, Clark Connors, Alex Coughlin, Drilla Maloney & Gabe Kidd.  The rules of the bout will be reminiscent of the War Games cage match that was originated by Dusty Rhodes back in 1987 while he was a member of the NWA roster.

A press conference was held on February 10th in which both the United Empire and Bullet Club War Dogs attended to discuss the upcoming “Dog Pound Cage Match” which has been predicted to be an intense battle. As expected during the press conference, there were many heated comments made by the competing teams which were aimed at their opponents. Finlay stated that each member of the United Empire will be taken down one by one and that nothing will be left of Ospreay’s Empire.

In addition to all the fiery comments, Ospreay reflected on his time as a member of the New Japan roster which comes to an end on February 11th.  Ospreay touched upon how the past eight years with NJPW were the best of his life. An emotional Ospreay mentioned that he feels that he has grown up and became a true man during the time he was in Japan. A grateful Ospreay thanked the fans of NJPW for the last eight years and expressed that he will fight to the bitter end during his last stand.
