Victoria Yuzuki Expresses Frustration And Self Doubt Following Marigold DREAM★STAR GP 2025 Loss To Kouki Amarei

By: Lewis Carlan

On Aug. 22nd, a crowd of 572 filled the Sunpearl Arakawa Arena to witness block matches for the Marigold DREAM★STAR GP 2025 tournament.

One of the bouts featured young star Victoria Yuzuki facing former GHC Women’s Champion Kouki Amarei in a Dream League Block showdown. Yuzuki went into the match knowing she had never defeated Amarei whether it was in a singles or tag team encounter.

Prior to the match, Yuzuki, who was undefeated in the DREAM★STAR GP 2025, stated that she couldn’t afford to lose and would beat Amarei no matter what.

Unfortunately for Yuzuki, she fell in defeat to Amarei at the 12:23 mark of thier match after Amarei connected with her Amethyst Butterfly finisher. Yuzuki started the match strong but couldn’t score her first ever win against Amarei and suffered her first loss of the tournament.

Yuzuki took to social media to express her frustration and hinted on feeling some self doubt following her loss to Amarei.

Despite her frustration she has vowed not to lose another tournament match.

From Victoria Yuzuki:

“Couldn’t keep the winning streak, first loss. Continuing to win from the opening match, it’s honestly incredibly frustrating to have that momentum stopped. Moreover, I couldn’t beat Kouki this time either. No matter how much I strategize and approach the match, I can’t win. Losing makes me think deeply about what I’m lacking. But I’ll definitely make a comeback somewhere. Also, I haven’t given up hope yet. There are three matches left. If I’m aiming for the championship, I can’t afford to lose anymore. I’ll win all the remaining league matches and head to the championship match.”

The loss knocked Yuzuki out of the top spot of the Dream League Block as she is now second to Utami Hayashishita.

Yuzuki’s next tournament match will be against Marvelous star Maria on Aug. 30th.
