Utami Hayashishita States She Will Not Give Up On Winning The GHC Belt Following Her Epic Match With Takumi Iroha

By: Lewis Carlan

On July 16th, the world of professional wrestling was treated to an epic match-up between two of the very best superstars in the world. At Marigold Burning Desire 2025 in Korakuen Hall, a double championship match occurred that immediately can be called a leading candidate for match of the year.

The Marigold World Champion Utami Hayashishita faced the GHC Women’s Champion Takumi Iroha with both titles on the line. This was a battle of two aces with Hayashishita representing Marigold and Iroha fighting for Marvelous. What transpired between the two in the fifty-six minute fifteen second bout will be remembered and talked about for many years to come. Hayashishita and Iroha fought with every ounce of strength they possessed as each desperately tried to pull out a victory.

The battle ended with a double knockout as they both were unable to beat the ten count at the 56:15 mark as they were at the point of exhaustion. Hayashishita and Iroha each retained their respective titles.

Following the match, Hayashishita crawled into the post-match interview and indicated that the feud with Iroha can’t end here and she won’t give up on winning the GHC Women’s Title.

From Utami Hayashishita:

“I can’t let it end here. I haven’t given up on the GHC belt. It might look uncool to say this when I’m all battered and can’t move, but next time, I will absolutely win. I’ll get the three and take the GHC from Takumi Iroha.”

(H/T goes to meraWRESTLING for the English translation)

Hayashishita also took to X to state that she was frustrated with the match and assumingly how it ended:

“It’s so frustrating. The most frustrating thing is that I couldn’t move any further.”

Hayashishita and Iroha had a bout that was one for the ages, one of epic proportions and one that makes pro-wrestling fans proud to be pro-wrestling fans.

As the author of this article, I would like to say to Utami Hayashishita-san and Takumi Iroha-san……Thank you.
