Will Ospreay did not have the most successful return to NJPW at King of Pro Wrestling. However, while his bag has been lightened with the loss of one title, another opportunity has come The Aerial Assassin’s way.
At NJPW King of Pro Wrestling, the AEW World Champion teamed with HENARE and the Great-O-Khan to defend the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championships. There, they faced the Unbound Co. trio of the Knockout Brothers and Jeff Cobb. The synergy between OSKAR and Yuto-Ice proved to be the deciding factor, with the recently crowned tag champions hoising up HENARE and connecting with the KOB for the pinfall.
After the bout, Callum Newman stormed the ring with a sword, almost decapitating Ospreay in the chaos.
Taking the microphone, Ospreay was keen to add some more gold to his shoulders. He challenged the Knockout Brothers for the IWGP Tag Team Championships. Yuto-Ice happily accepted on behalf of his team, taking delight in nominating Newman as Ospreay’s partner. The title match did not quell things between Ospreay and Newman, with the temperature remaining high between the two of them as they headed backstage.
