Unexpected Team of David Finlay and Hiromu Takahashi Defeats the Knockout Brothers in the World Tag League

New Japan Pro Wrestling is currently touring with the World Tag League 2025 on the road to Wrestle Kingdom 20. The second day of the tournament took place in Kanagawa and featured a main event between the Knockout Brothers and the unexpected team of David Finlay and Hiromu Takahashi.

In the first match of the tournament, Monster Sauce defeated House of Torture after Zayne hit a Super Swanton Bomb on SANADA, which Archer had thrown at him. In the next match, TMDK defeated United Empire after Sabre Jr. transitioned into a Jackknife Pinfall following a German Suplex by Oiwa on O’Khan.

In the semi main event, Umino and Uemura defeated Tanahashi and ELP after Umino hit a Second Chapter on ELP. In the main event, Finlay and Takahashi defeated the Knockout Brothers after Finlay rolled up Yuto-Ice for the pin. Finlay tagged himself in without Ice noticing. This was the Knockout Brothers’ first tag team loss since returning to New Japan Pro Wrestling.
