Unagi Sayaka Reveals What She Would Look For in an Ideal Marriage Partner, Hopes To Find Her True Love

Freelance superstar Unagi Sayaka celebrated her 40th birthday on Sept. 2nd and to commemorate her milestone, she will be competing in a number of matches on the latest Unagi Sayaka Produce event.

The event is titled “Sayaka Unagi, 40 Years Old and Still Belonging to No One” and is set for the Tokyo Dome City LaQua Garden Stage.

In a recent interview, as reported by Tokyo Sports, Sayaka has indicated that she would like to get married but hasn’t really done anything to make it a reality. She stated while she plays the “girlfriend” role for Minoru Suzuki and Masato Tanaka inside the ring, she hopes to find her true love.

From Unagi Sayaka:

“I keep saying I want to get married, but I haven’t actually done anything concrete about it. “I could be with them (Minrou Suzuki and Masato Tanaka) anytime if I felt like it. So, while I continue to play the ‘girlfriend’ role for Minoru and Masato as part of my business, I want to find my true love.”

During the interview, Sayaka revealed what she envisions her ideal marriage partner would be like. She wants a relationship where they can explore fun things together. While her busy schedule doesn’t allow her to travel, she would be content just going to a convenience store with her ideal partner.

From Unagi Sayaka:

“It doesn’t matter if they’re a celebrity or someone in the same industry—anything goes. I love eating, so I’d like someone who enjoys everything with me. I think I’ll be spending more time with the version of myself who is no longer a pro wrestler. In that case, I’d like a relationship where we can explore fun things together and enjoy good food. I can’t go on trips at all right now, and I don’t have any days off. So I want to look forward to that. Honestly, I’d be incredibly happy just to go to a convenience store together at night.”

As she just turned 40 and has experienced tremendous success as a pro-wrestler, one can get the feeling she is looking to wind down her current career and begin the next phase in her life.
