Two Shocking Eliminations As STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 Is Down To Final Four

The STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 tournament, which began with a field of 32 participants, is down to its final four as AZM, Saori Anou, Momo Watanabe and Rina all move on to the semi-finals.

The tournament playoffs and quarter-finals played out on Aug. 20th at a jam packed Korakuen Hall.

The Aug. 20 event was not without shocking eliminations as both the World of STARDOM champion Saya Kamitani and the IWGP Women’s Champion Sareee  suffered defeats and were knocked out of the tournament. It was predicted by many that they would face each other in the finals but that prediction will not become a reality in 2025.

Kamitani was defeated by AZM in a quarter-final thriller as AZM punched her ticket to the semi-finals. AZM was victorious over Hanan in a playoff match prior to her massive win over Kamitani.

Before the start of the 5★STAR GP 2025, Kamitani hadn’t suffered a defeat inside a STARDOM ring in almost a year. Now she has lost two STARDOM matches in a row in the course of three days as Kamitani also lost to Bea Priestley on Aug. 17th.

It’s no secret that one of the matches fans were hoping for was a Momo Watanabe showdown with Sareee. Watanabe granted the wish of the fans in Korakuen Hall and those watching on STARDOM World when she defeated Ami Sohrei and earned the right to face Sareee in a quarter-final match.

Watanabe and Sareee, who seemingly have a genuine disliking for one another, waged a tough, hard-hitting battle. It took 15 minutes and 13 seconds with assistance from her H.A.T.E. Faction for Watanabe to defeat Sareee with her Peach Sunrise finisher.

All four semi-finalists came to the ring to close out the event.

• Yuria Hime & Ema Maishima defeated Akira Kurogane & Kikyo Furusawa

• Quarter-Final Match: Momo Watanabe defeated Sareee
• Quarter-Final Match: Rina defeated Rina

The STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 semi-finals and finals are set for Aug. 23rd at the Ota Ward General Gymnasium in Tokyo.

The semi-final matches are as follows:

• Saori Anou vs. Momo Watanabe
• AZM vs. Rina

One of the four names above will be the winner of the STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 tournament. It’s guaranteed that each will fight like hell to be the one who will raise the coveted winners trophy on Aug. 23rd in Tokyo.
