Titus Alexander Fails in Bid To Win GHC National Title, Earns Respect of Jack Morris

By: Lewis Carlan

On January 17th, Pro Wrestling NOAH presented its Sunny Voyage 2024 event at Shinjuku FACE. For Titus Alexander, this was the biggest night of his career thus far in NOAH as he had his first title opportunity and his first headlining match for the promotion. Alexander challenged the current GHC National Champion Jack Morris, who was making his second defense of the title he won back on October 28th, 2023. Alexander had been very vocal on how he was going to defeat Jack Morris and become the new champion.

Unfortunately for Alexander, it would not be his night to become a champion as Jack Morris was able to overcome a tough match from the young challenger and retain his GHC National Championship. Despite being on the losing end, Titus Alexander made quite an impression on the fans in attendance as he took Morris to the limit with crowd-pleasing offense and numerous near falls. The two gave everyone who paid for a ticket their money’s worth in the final match of the event.

The fans weren’t the only ones who were impressed with the performance of Alexander. Jack Morris offered praise to his challenger following the match, calling him a “great professional wrestler”. Morris even referred to Alexander as a “good-looking guy” hinting that Alexander may be a candidate to possibly join the GLG faction that Morris is a member of. Morris offered his hand as a show of respect which was accepted by Alexander.

This was the final match of this current tour for Alexander as he will be heading back to the US for a series of independent matches. Jack Morris, who is a double champion, is set to defend his GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Titles with partner Anthony Greene on February 4th against former GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Champs Alpha Wolf and Dragon Bane.
