The First Defense for GHC Women’s Champion MIRAI Has Been Made Official

Back on June 15th, MIRAI defeated Great Sakuya at NOAH Wrestle Magic 2026 to win the vacant GHC Women’s Title and became the fourth woman to hold that belt. Mayu Iwatani was forced to relinquish the GHC Women’s Title due to injury which opened the door for MIRAI to win the arguably biggest championship of her career.

As we are heading into August 2026, fans were beginning to wonder when MIRAI would defended her GHC Women’s Title and we now have that answer.

Michinoku Pro-Wrestling announced that MIRAI will make her first defense of the GHC Women’s Championship against Nagisa Nozaki on Sept. 22th at the Miyako City General Gymnasium Sea Arena.  The event is being billed “MIRAI’s Homecoming” as she is from Miyako City.

Nagisa Nozaki is in a great position in terms of championship bouts. She could very well walk into her Sept. 22nd GHC Women’s Title opportunity as the Marigold World Champion. Nagisa is set to challenge Miku Aono on Aug. 9th for Marigold’s top prize.

MIRAI was very proud when she overcame Great Sakuya to win the GHC Women’s belt and has zero intentions of being dethroned by Nozaki on Sept. 22nd in front of her hometown crowd.
