Syuri Answers Back to MIRAI: “I Want to Wrestle Again Too”

By: Pep S. Caro

MIRAI is living a new chapter in her professional wrestling story, now as a member of Michinoku Pro Wrestling in Iwate Prefecture. Since joining this organization, she has been competing in many others representing Michinoku Pro. The most recent event was the self-produced show by Azusa Inaba at Shinjuku FACE on November 29.

MIRAI is one of the female talents who has made her mark in the different organizations she has participated in, having been a champion in TJPW, STARDOM, and MARIGOLD. At Azusa Inaba’s event, she announced her challenge to the JTO Women’s Champion, who accepted to defend her JTO Girls’ Championship on December 28 at JTO’s final event of the year. That’s a new opportunity to become Champion in a different organization.

She also had the opportunity to participate in Sareee ISM Chapter IX at Shinjuku FACE, a self-produced event by Sareee, whom she will face on January 1st at Onita’s benefic event. At the Sareee ISM event, MIRAI participated in an exclusive interview in collaboration between MONTHLY PURORESU and HypeTalkTV. In that interview, Alessandro asked her about opponents she would like to face now that she is a member of Michinoku Pro. MIRAI responded that she wants to face opponents with whom she has drawn and also with someone she respects and to whom she owes a debt of gratitude. These are Chanyota, NØRI, and Syuri.

Syuri quickly reciprocated the feelings of MIRAI, a friend and colleague, especially during their time in God’s Eye at STARDOM. Syuri took advantage of a social media post I made to express her desire to “also have another match someday”. The last time Syuri and MIRAI shared the ring was on March 31, 2024, in MIRAI’s farewell match at STARDOM.

MIRAI will face Chanyota on December 2 at PPP Tokyo’s first event of the year in a special match at Tokyo’s Itabashi Square. Nothing is confirmed yet regarding NØRI, but it’s a possible match given the high regard in the industry for the leaders of their respective organizations. This match could take place in one of those organizations or in Sareee-ISM. These three matches are very exciting and not something we see often. They promise to make the women’s wrestling scene in Japan a bit more thrilling in 2026.
