Syrui Reveals Why She Decided To Skip The STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2026

The STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2026 is in full swing with the best of the best competing in an effort to win the prestigious tournament.

While the STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2026 is loaded with pro-wrestling stars, there is one superstar that is noticeably not competing in the annual tournament.

The IWGP Women’s Champion Syuri made the decision to skip this years 5★STAR GP as she will be taking her talents and championship on an overseas excursion.

She explained her decision in a new report out by Tokyo Sports.

From Syuri:

“The IWGP title itself is a global standard belt, so I want to keep evolving overseas myself. I want to face various unfamiliar wrestlers and raise my level.” (H/T to meraWRESTLING for the English quote translation)

Syuri is currently in her second reign as the IWGP Women’s Champion. She has held the belt since Oct. 13th 2025.

Syuri’s last successful defense was on July 18th against Natsupoi in a thriller of a match.

Now, as a true champion, Syuri is set to take her IWGP Women’s Championship overseas and defend it against the best the world has to offer.
