It was a few days ago that STARDOM announced that Tam Nakano would be withdrawing from her World of Stardom championship defence against Suzu Suzuki. The Crazy Girl had won this year’s 5★STAR GP, which gave her the opportunity to challenge Nakano at Dream Queendom – but she elected to take her shot early at Gold Rush, with the show still slated to take place next week.
Suzuki first thought to herself “She needs to start taking this seriously and to stop messing around” upon hearing the news of the match’s cancellation due to Nakano suffering an injury, but her attitude soon turned to unsatisfactory when the champion didn’t even relay a message to SNS following her withdrawal. “She has no sense of responsibility as champion” – the 5★STAR GP winner had also said that her desire to want to wrestle against Nakano had also diminished since.
Since STARDOM’s announcement of Nakano’s withdrawal from the November 18th show, the situation hasn’t been made clear whether or not Suzu Suzuki still has the right to challenge Tam Nakano at a later date or if the match has been cancelled entirely, with the company’s official English account vaguely posting “What will happen to the World of Stardom title???”.
“There’s a lot of talk about people wanting Nakano to ‘give the title back’,” Suzuki says, “Maybe she’s even considering vacating the championship, but no one knows because she hasn’t said anything on SNS, and continuing to hold the title when you’re not even able to actively wrestle isn’t very compelling, so I think Tam Nakano should give up the Red Belt.” h/t Tokyo Sports
Suzu Suzuki will now be facing AZM and the returning Starlight Kid in a triple-threat match at Gold Rush in replacement for her originally scheduled match against the World of Stardom champion.
