STARDOM were back in Korakuen Hall for another Nighter ahead of Crimson Nightmare. In the main event, the two women competing for the World of Stardom Championship faced off in tag team action, with Suzu Suzuki coming out on top.
Coming into the event, Suzu Suzuki was advertised as having a mystery opponent, while Starlight Kid would form ‘Team Mutual Love’ with Natsupoi. Suzuki ended up dragging out a somewhat reluctant Natsuko Tora to be her partner, with Tora having already wrestled in the opening 10-person tag. Despite the unorthodox pairing, Suzuki and Tora proved to be an effective pair. A splash from Tora combo’d with Suzuki’s German suplex was enough to pin Starlight Kid.
In her post-match comments, Suzuki had a final message for her challenger before they meet at STARDOM Crimson Nightmare:
Starlight Kid. I’ve been saying over and over that I really, really want this belt.
If I lose again today, that’s no good, right? I can’t lose, can I? This World Championship belt isn’t something to take lightly. It doesn’t matter how long your pro wrestling career is or how much you’ve loved pro-wrestling—none of that matters. The strongest person is the one who wears it.
On the opposite side, Starlight Kid and Natsupoi licked their wounds, while also looking ahead.
Natsupoi:
Kid-chan’s big preliminary match—I really wanted to win it with you, but I’m sorry I couldn’t support you properly. I really am. It’s frustrating, but Suzu and Natsuko-poi were the ones across the ring today. Watching those two… it’s frustrating, though. It’s frustrating, but… I guess we’ll just have to pass the torch to the second generation of Team Mutual Love.
Starlight Kid:
Why? Why? Why? Team Mutual Love is my tag team with Natsupoi, right? There’s no way we’re passing it on! I mean, I don’t want to end on a loss like this. I said this might be the last time, but if we can team up one more time, I want to do it. I’m not handing over Team Mutual Love. Bye-poi Road—two months left? Before Natsupoi retires, I’ll win the red belt as her fellow rookie class member. I’ll win it before she retires. Watch me achieve the grand slam.
Elsewhere, Ranna Yagami made another successful defence of the Future of Stardom Championship. However, it was not as triumphant a retention as she would have hoped. Azusa Inaba had stepped up as her challenger, and managed to go to the distance with Yagami. The two wrestled to a time limit draw, the tie being chalked up as another successful defence by Yagami.
Nevertheless, speaking in her backstage comments, Yagami welcomed a rematch:
Azusa Inaba. She’s 18 and already putting on her own events; she competes in various organizations and carries the weight of her own promotion on her shoulders. She’s truly amazing, and while I feel incredibly lucky to have such an inspiring peer, it also made me think even more strongly that I can’t let her beat me.
Whether it’s this belt or any other belt Azusa might hold—or any belt I might hold—I definitely want to face her again.
With just one more defense to go before the record for most title defenses, I’m absolutely determined to break that record!
Similarly, Inaba has not given up in the wake of the draw:
I didn’t lose, but this was the most frustrating time-limit draw ever. If I’d had just 10 more seconds, I’m absolutely certain I would have won, so I’m not satisfied with this result.
So, even though I don’t want to make a wasted challenge, I’ll challenge for it next time, and I’ll definitely be the first non-Stardom member to win the Future of Stardom title—and I’ll bring that belt back to H.A.T.E. Next time, I’m definitely going to knock Ranna Yagami out.
