Sumire Natsu Will Make Pro Wrestling EVE Debut

by: J. Curbelo

NOMADS’ standout Natsu Sumire has been popping up everywhere since coming back to in-ring competition last year, and now it’s turn for United Kingdom’s all female promotion Pro Wrestling EVE.

EVE’s International Women’s Day show, titled “Women Behaving Badly”, will feature worldwide-revered figures of women’s wrestling such as EVE Champion Miyu Yamashita, Millie McKenzie and Session Moth Martina; alongside regional mainstays of the indepedent scene like Kanji, Nina Samuels (Who has been on tour with Sendai Girls recently) and U.S. up and comer B3CCA.

This is not Natsu Sumire’s first rodeo in Europe, as she performed for Spain’s Revolution Championship Wrestling in early 2019 while she was with STARDOM’s Oedo Tai, whose members did show up in EVE a few months later. However, as it was made clear at Stardom in Showcase, this a whole different Sumire.

It can’t be helped but to think about one potential fixture, though. Another former Oedo Tai member in Session Moth Martina, with whom she partenered for the 2019 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League. It’s up in the air whether Ireland’s tipsy heroine is a friend or a foe to this new and improved Sumire, but there’s one month left to find out.

What’s certain is that the freelancer has stayed true by her motto of no home, all amibition. And she’s not the only one, as multiple female wrestlers have livened up the scene making use of the freedom of having no contracts. There’s even rumblings of a possible GHC Womens’ Championship involving these wrestlers, which have been started by none other than Jungle Kyona herself. What does 2023 have in store for joshi puroresu?
