Starlight Kid States That She Is The One Who Wants To Dethrone Saya Kamitani for the World of STARDOM Title

Back in March, STARDOM superstar Starlight Kid completed a mini-tour of Mexico competing in a series of matches for CMLL. This was her first trip to Mexico and it was a destination she had wanted to compete in for quite some time.

Starlight Kid was speaking with reporters and discussed her visit to Mexico.

From Starlight Kid:

“As a masked wrestler, I’d always wanted to go to Mexico at least once. When I actually went, the ring was harder than in the U.S., and because of the high altitude, the air was thin. I competed in a completely unfamiliar environment and came back stronger. I feel like I can do anything now! Mexico is the home of masked wrestlers, so it’s a world completely opposite from Stardom. I truly felt the culture of how deeply they cherish their masks, and that’s exactly why, as Stardom’s only masked woman, I want to continue wearing mine with care. As a masked woman, I will not only be the face of Stardom but also stand at the pinnacle of the pro-wrestling world.”

Upon her return to Japan, Starlight Kid made it clear that she has one goal in mind and that is to be the one who dethrones Saya Kamitani for her World of STARDOM Championship.

Starlight Kid challenged Kamitani for the STARDOM Red Belt back in Feb. 2026 at Stardom 15th Anniversary Supreme Fight 2026 In Osaka. The match was a tremendous one that could have gone either way but in the end it was Kamitani who emerged victorious and remained World of STARDOM Champion. Following the bout, Kamitani stated that she would be willing to give Kid another chance at the Red Belt.

Saya Kamitani is set to defend the World of STARDOM Title on April 26th at ALL STAR GRAND QUEENDOM 2026 against Sayaka Kurara. Starlight Kid has made it no secret who she is rooting for to win that bout. Kid is hoping Kamitani retains her title as she wants to be the one to take the World of STARDOM Title from her.

From Starlight Kid:

“I’m holding a grudge against Kamitani. Although Sayaka’s challenge at Yokohama Arena has already been confirmed, my determination to win the red belt has grown stronger after the February title match. Plus, after the match, I made Kamitani say, ‘One more time.’ I want to fulfill that promise no matter what. So, speaking purely from a personal standpoint, I want Kamitani to defend the title. I want to be the one to take the belt from the undisputed champion, Kamitani.”

Kamitani has held the Red Belt since Dec. 29th 2024 and will be defending the title for the tenth time on April 26th. Starlight Kid has a burning desire to be the one to dethrone her.

All Kid can do is wait for April 26th and hope Kamitani emerges from her title match with Kurara victorious. If that occurs, it will be interesting to see if Starlight Kid appears and issues another challenge to Kamitani for the World of STARDOM Title in Yokohama.
