Starlight Kid Gives Heartfelt Statement Following Her 10th Anniversary Event

On October 20th, a sold out crowd was on-hand at Shinjuku FACE for Starlight Kid’s 10th anniversary event. The event was titled “STARLIGHT KID DEBUT 10TH ANNIVERSARY ~ KICHAN FAMILY IN CRISIS!?” and celebrated Kid’s longevity as a professional wrestler.

The main event featured Starlight Kid teaming with El Desperado & Dragon Kid as they faced Shingo Takagi, Jun Kasai & Kyoko Inoue. While the bout was filled with excitement, Takagi, Kasai & Inoue emerged victorious as they spoiled Starlight Kid’s 10th anniversary celebration. Following a Kasai frog splash, Inoue nailed a powerbomb on Starlight Kid which was enough for the pinfall victory.

Takagi, Kasai and Inoue each offered praise to Starlight Kid after the match had concluded. Starlight Kid herself took the mic and made a lengthy heartfelt comment of her own as she addressed the crowd.

From Starlight Kid:

“Today’s show is sold out, all the seats are sold out, thank you so much for coming in such large numbers! I’m so happy! I’m not the type of person who can stick with things for long, but to be able to continue wrestling for ten years is a real achievement for me! It’s something that I couldn’t have imagined before. But the reason I’ve been able to continue wrestling for ten years is because of the support of all the fans who always support me, everyone at STARDOM, the wrestlers, staff, everyone involved, and my family! Thank you so much. And thank you to President Okada and all the staff who prepared so much for today! You all listened to all my selfish requests! Thanks to that, with so many fans in attendance, I think it’s safe to call it a great success, even though I lost!” (Inoue apologized) No! I’m happy to have received such a full course meal at the end. There aren’t many times when I feel happy about losing, but today’s loss was one of those. Well, I’ll continue to fight in this ring for a while longer, but I’m truly happy that I was able to commemorate my 10th anniversary, my 10th anniversary since my debut, with this show. I truly hope that this show will be a memorable one for everyone in this venue, and everyone watching on YouTube! I look forward to your continued support for Starlight Kid in her 11th anniversary!
