Starlight Kid and Momo Watanabe Out with Injuries Following STARDOM Crimson Nightmare

STARDOM hosted a press conference today in the wake of their Crimson Nightmare event. As the promotion looks to end 2025 on a high note, two of their biggest stars, Starlight Kid and Momo Watanabe, are set to take time off to recover from injury.

Starlight Kid is said to have injured her arm during her match with Konami at Crimson Nightmare. The match saw Starlight Kid lose the Wonder of STARDOM title, finishing her reign at 309 days with a total of six successful defences. There is currently no timetable on Starlight Kid’s return to action.

Momo Watanabe was unsuccessful in her pursuit of the World of STARDOM title at Crimson Nightmare. After losing to her stablemate Saya Kamitani, Watanabe revealed in her post-match comments how she had been working through an injured knee. She will now take time off to heal, also with no slated return date. Watanabe also sent in a message that was read at the STARDOM press conference:

As I said backstage yesterday, I’ll be taking some time off to treat my knee. To the shitheads who were probably looking forward to various things—sorry… yeah, no, I’m not. This is the necessary time for me to become even stronger. All you need to do is eagerly wait for the Black Peach who’ll return unbelievably powerful.

There’s one more thing I want to say: both the 5★STAR and the title match yesterday were the result of my decision and me giving it my absolute all, and that fact hasn’t changed. I gave my all to win the tournament, and I gave my all to challenge for the title and lost—an injury is never going to be my excuse for losing. However, I’m taking a break now for the sake of my future. That’s all.

Well, I’m sure the current H.A.T.E. will dominate everything and hold down the fort on the ring for me.
