The final spot in ZERO1’s Fire Festival 2026 tournament has been filled by Pro-Wrestling EVO’s Shuji Ishikawa.
As reported yesterday, Pro-Wrestling Evolution held a new management event where they announced Shuji Ishikawa as the newest addition to their roster.
At the event, Ishikawa was approached by ZERO1 GM Megumi Kudo with an invitation to participate in this year’s Fire Festival. Ishikawa would accept the invite and have this to say regarding his participation in this year’s tournament.
From Shuji Ishikawa:
“I’ve fought Masato Tanaka and Hayabusa, so I understand just how high the level of ZERO1 is. I’m going to win the Fire Festival Sword!”
The winner of the 2025 Fire Festival, Hayabusa, suffered a loss to Ishikawa back on February 7th at a ZERO1 event in Itabashi, giving the Pro-Wrestling EVO star some bragging rights going into this year’s tournament.
Hayabusa took to social media following the announcement, sharing his gratitude for the opportunity to avenge his recent losses against the likes of Junya Matsunaga, Katsuhiko Nakajima and Shuji Ishikawa.
From Hayabusa:
“I lost our last match, so I’m grateful that so many of the opponents I have a score to settle with are competing. I’m going to take them all down and win this year’s Fire Festival.”
