The NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi is coming to the United States once again, after defending his title successfully against Gabe Kidd at Wrestling Dontaku. He’s now going to face the young but rabid Yuya Uemura, who’s already the first wrestler in New Japan Pro Wrestling’s new generation to have a title belt. Uemura is looking to strike again and win his second title in New Japan by defeating Takagi in NJPW Resurgence.

Uemura is the only wrestler besides Shota Umino who will represent the new blood in the cerulean blue, because Yota Tsuji and Ren Narita will not be in this event that could change the trajectory of New Japan as we know it, amidst a paradigm shift unlike any other for the pro wrestling industry in Japan. Will Uemura defeat the reigning champion Takagi and write his name in history as the first KOPW and NEVER Openweight Champion? Or will we see Takagi at his best form bringing back the prestige of the NEVER title?
