Saya Kamitani Suffers First Defeat Of The STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 Tournament As Knockout Stage Is Set

The STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 Block matches have come to an end as the tournament is now heading into it’s knockout stage. The knockout stage will begin on Aug. 20th at Korakuen Hall.

All the competitors for the next round of the 5★STAR GP 2025 have been confirmed and they are as follows:

Red Stars A Block:

• Saya Kamitani: 14 points
• Bea Priestley: 10 points
• Hanan: 9 points

Red Stars B Block:

• Natsupoi: 10 points
• AZM: 9 points
• Rina: 9 points

Blue Stars A Block:

• Saori Anou: 11 points
• Ami Sohrei:10 points
• Bozilla: 10 points

Blue Stars B Block:

• Sareee: 11 points
• Suzu Suzuki: 10 points
• Momo Watanabe: 8 points

In a stunning turn of events, Saya Kamitani was defeated for the first time in the tournament and in almost a full year when Bea Priestley beat her in the final Red Stars A Block match. Priestley ended Kamitani’s undefeated streak at the 13:06 mark of their match after hitting her Queen’s Landing finisher.

The win ensured Priestley would move on the knockout stage of the STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025.

Priestley has faced Kamitani four times in singles matches since 2020 and remains undefeated against the current World of STARDOM Champion.

In her backstage post-match interview, Priestley stated it feels really good being the first one to defeat Kamitani in a long time.

“It feels really, really good to be the first one to beat Kamitani in a very long time. All I can say now is that I’m grateful for the opportunity to come back to STARDOM. I can’t wait to be back here again really, really soon.”

In another surprise of the tournament, the Wonder of STARDOM Champion Starlight Kid was eliminated from entering the next round as she fell in defeat to Natsupoi on Aug 17th.

The Act City Hamamatsu Exhibition Event Hall #2 was sold out on Aug. 17th with 1.045 in attendance for the final night of 5★STAR GP 2025 block action.
