STARDOM held its latest event STARDOM IN KORAKUEN 2025 MAY in front of a capacity crowd.
The featured match for this event was a World of STARDOM Championship bout as the champion Saya Kamitani defended against the Cinderella 2025 Tournament winner Sayaka Kurara.
Initially it appeared Kamitani wasn’t taking the challenge of the young Kurara seriously during the weeks leading up to the match. When all was said and done, Kurara, despite falling in defeat, had earned the respect of Kamitani.
It took two Star Crushers during the course of the encounter for Kamitani to put Kurara away. Kurara very nearly won the bout on a number of occasions.
Kamitani offered praise for Kurara’s performance after defeating her in a little over twenty two minutes.
From Saya Kamitani immediately following her victory:
“When you decided to challenge for the Red Belt, you may have been told a lot of things. You may have thought that you couldn’t do it. You don’t need to try to take someone else’s place anymore. Just keep proving your existence as Sayaka Kurara in this ring, like you did today.”
Kamitani have more praise to Kurara during her backstage comments:
Hey, Kurara. Did you feel it with your whole body? This is the Red Belt. Well, you may have given it your all, but Saya-sama hasn’t given it her all yet. Like I said before, she doesn’t need to try to take someone’s place, she doesn’t need to think that she has to carry someone’s burden, she’s just who she is, Sayaka Kurara, if she continues to prove who she is, that she is Sayaka Kurara, like she did today, then everyone will follow her, right? Those are kind words from Saya-sama. Be grateful.”
There is little doubt that Kurara has reached the next level in her career following her inspiring match against Kamitani. Kurara is ready to stand on her and even possibly become a leader.
