On Sept. 6th, the World of STARDOM Champion Saya Kamitani will be making her fifth defense of the title at Yokohama Budokan against former champion Bea Priestley. This defense of the Red Belt is expected to be the toughest physically and mentally for Kamitani since she won the title back in Dec. 2024.
Going into this title defense, Kamitani has never defeated Priestley in a singles match. They have met four times since 2020 with Priestley holding a 3-0-1 record over the current World Of STARDOM champion.
Priestley’s most recent victory over Kamitani came less than a month ago on Aug. 17th in a 5★STAR GP 2025 Tournament match. Shortly afterwards, Priestley challenged Kamitani for the Red Belt during a backstage post-match interview.

Priestley recently made her return to STARDOM as a full fledged member of it’s roster after spending the last four years in the WWE.
Kamitani took to X to send a message to Priestley indicating that she is ready for their showdown and expressed confidence that she will finally get a win over her rival.
From Saya Kamitani:
After 4 years, Bea Priestley
has rejoined STARDOM. The 4-year gap between Bea and me. If you come at me with everything you’ve fought for in the world, I’ll throw everything I’ve fought for in STARDOM right back at you. And on top of that, I’m confident I’ll surpass you in every way. Because STARDOM is the “number one promotion,”and the one wearing the top red belt in it is none other than “Saya-sama.”

Kamitani is going into this title defense very confident but one has to imagine that the thought of never being able to defeat Priestley is weighing heavily in her mind, putting her at a psychological disadvantage.
Priestley would like nothing more than to regain the World of STARDOM championship which she last held in 2019. That would be the perfect complement for Priestley after officially signing with STARDOM two weeks ago.
Regardless of what transpires, all eyes will be fixated on the Sept. 6th World of STARDOM championship match at Yokohama Budokan.
