On July 21st, the World of STARDOM Champion Saya Kamitani will defend her title against the challenge of Natsupoi. The bout is scheduled to take place at STARDOM’s SAPPORO RENDEZVOUS 2025 event at the Chatelaise Gato Kingdom in Sapporo.
This will be Kamitani’s fourth title defense since winning the title back on Dec. 29 2024. Natsupoi will be looking to become a STARDOM Grand Slam Champion as she has held every title in STARDOM except the Red Belt.
It was nearly one year ago that Kamitani turned heel at STARDOM SAPPORO WORLD RENDEZVOUS back on July 28, 2024. Since she made the change, her career skyrocketed as she is now the top competitor in the promotion and arguably the face of STARDOM.
Kamitani spoke with Tokyo Sports recently and opened up about turning heel.
From Saya Kamitani:
“Up until then, I’d been walking the path of a traditional babyface, so there was nothing but risk, but I turned heel, prepared to throw away everything I had built up until then. At that time, STARDOM was in a crisis due to the split, so I wanted to shake things up and make it more interesting. For the past year, I’ve been thinking about nothing but pro wrestling, to the point that it’s driving me crazy. At first, there was a storm of criticism, but now everything has turned around, hasn’t it?”

Kamitani has stated that she will keep up her momentum in the second half of 2025.
From Saya Kamitani:
“I won’t stop this momentum in the second half of the year. I’ll stir things up in the ring, and I’ll ensure that Saya-sama is the first to bring women’s pro wrestling to the world. I’m going to make the genre of women’s pro wrestling super mainstream, so don’t take your eyes off Saya-sama, okay?
STARDOM SAPPORO RENDEZVOUS 2025 will be LIVE on a pay per view basis.
