Saya Kamitani and Momo Watanabe Attempt To Incite Each Other Ahead Of The STARDOM 5★STAR GP Tournament

The STARDOM 5★STAR GP Tournament is a mere six days away as gets underway on July 18th at the Ota City General Gymnasium. The tournament will be broken into four divisions, the Red Stars A & B Blocks and the Blue Stars A & B Blocks.

Saya Kamitani and Momo Watanabe are both members of the STARDOM faction H.A.T.E. and things between the two have been very heated and it seems their volatile situation is about to explode. Both Kamitani and Watanabe have been placed in the Blue Stars B Block which has the potential to make their deteriorating relationship even worse.

Kamitani and Watanabe attended the July 12th STARDOM 5★STAR GP press conference today in Tokyo and as expected both took turns attempting to provoke the other.

Watanabe, who was last years  5★STAR GP winner, spoke first and stated she has two goals which are to win back to back tournaments and to beat Kamitani.

From Momo Watanabe:

“I have two goals. To become the first person ever to win back-to-back titles. Since I’m the only one who can do it, I’m going for back-to-back titles. And the other is to beat Saya Kamitani. You (Kamitani) said I’m someone who’s never even won the red belt,
but you (Kamitani) have never won 5★STAR either, right? If you’ve got something to say, go ahead and win 5★STAR first.”

Kamitani responded by saying she finds it funny that Watanabe thinks she will win back to back tournaments. She also stated she is the one who will win and eventually get the World of STARDOM Red Belt back around her waist.

From Saya Kamitani:

“It’s already been three months since Saya-sama lost her red belt. I wonder how much the rental fee for that red belt has gone up by now? This is my seventh time competing in the 5★STAR GP, and this year, I’m absolutely going to win and bring that red belt back to Saya-sama. And Momo Watanabe. Two consecutive titles? Don’t make me laugh. You better be careful not to lose to Saya-sama and end up being laughed at by everyone here. Starlight Kid in the opening match. I never thought we’d have a rematch this soon, but there’s no doubt it was me who said I wanted to do it again. Kid, I’m looking forward to it.”

Momo Watanabe’s first match in the 5★STAR GP will be on July 18th against Yuna Mizumori as Kamitani will have to wait until July 28th for her first tournament bout when she faces Starlight Kid at Korakuen Hall.

Saya Kamitani is set to face Momo Watanabe on Aug. 3rd at Korakuen Hall in a match that has become a very highly anticipated one between the two competitors who are quickly becoming hated rivals.
