Sareee Questions Why Syuri Didn’t Compete On June 8th Since She Was At Korakuen Hall

By: Lewis Carlan

On June 8th, STARDOM held it’s “STARDOM IN KORAKUEN 2025 JUN.” event at Korakuen Hall.

One of the featured match-ups saw Sareee taking on rising star Ranna Yagami. What added intrigue to this bout was Yagami had been trained by IWGP Women’s Champion Syuri and Sareee will face Syuri for the title on June 21st.

Yagami put up a valiant effort but was ultimately defeated by the more experienced Sareee.

After the match, Syuri appeared with the IWGP Women’s Title. Two days earlier, she was in the UK and successfully defended her championship against Alex Windsor.

Syuri entered the ring and went back and forth verbally with Sareee. The two shook hands at the conclusion of their verbal confrontation as they both will now gear up for their June 21st showdown with the IWGP Women’s Title at stake.

During the post-match interview, Sareee, as she was cooling down, wondered why if Syuri was at Korakuen Hall, how come she decided not to wrestle. Because of this, Sareee also questioned the drive Syuri has.

From Sareee:

“And Syuri. If she was able to come to the venue, she could’ve made it in time for the match, right? I was kind of fired up in the ring and couldn’t really think clearly, but now that I’ve cooled down, I’m thinking, ‘Wait, why didn’t she wrestle if she could be here?’ I mean, she got back this morning, right? Then normally she should’ve been able to make it in time. Does she just not have that kind of drive? I was here, wrestling, and if she was able to come out at the end like that, wouldn’t the fans have been even happier if she had actually wrestled?”

While one can argue that Sareee has a point, you also have to realize that Syuri was on a 12 hour flight as she returned from the UK. Syuri being match ready for the Korakuen Hall event was highly unlikely.

Sareee has made it no secret that she needs to win the IWGP Women’s Title in 2025. She can accomplish that on June 21st but she will need to get past another superstar in Syuri and that will not be an easy task.
