Sareee expressed her happiness while giving a speech after accepting the award.
From Sareee:
“I am truly happy. Last year, I received the Women’s Pro Wrestling Award, and I fought through this past year with the firm determination that I would definitely return to this place again. There were mixed opinions, but I believe the result of fighting without bending my own beliefs has led to this award today. This year as well, I want to firmly show my own style of strong pro wrestling in the ring. I will definitely return to this place next year as well.”
During the ceremony, Sareee was asked if she feels there is competition between her and the Tokyo Sports MVP Award winner Saya Kamitani.
Sareee admitted that she does and stated while she has never had a singles bout with Kamitani, she is ready anytime.
From Sareee:
“Of course I do. I’m extremely frustrated, to be honest. But I don’t feel like I’m losing to her in pro wrestling at all. That’s one thing I won’t lose at. But we haven’t even faced each other in a singles match yet, so I can’t say anything definitive. As for when that day comes, I am ready anytime, so I think it is up to her.”
Back in Sept. 2025, Kamitani and Sareee engaged in fierce verbal exchange on social media which made it quite apparent that these two superstars want to face off in singles competition.
There is a very good chance that Saya Kamitani and Sareee will meet each other in a singles battle in 2026. It’s a highly anticipated match the fans want and it would be the biggest Joshi Puroresu bout we have seen in many years.
