Sareee-ISM Reaches Chapter IX with Sold-Out Show, Eyes Yokohama Budokan for Milestone Event

By: Thom Fain

TOKYO – Sareee teamed with Suzu Suzuki to defeat Natsupoi and Chihiro Hashimoto in the main event of SAREEE-ISM Chapter IX on Monday, delivering a Wrist-Clutch Uranage to Natsupoi for the pinfall before a capacity crowd of 600 at Shinjuku FACE.

The victory continues Sareee’s momentum as her self-produced show series reaches its ninth edition since launching following her return to Japan from WWE. The crowd remained hot from bell to bell for an event that showcased both Sareee’s current standing in Japanese women’s wrestling and the depth of talent surrounding her promotion.

Natsupoi, whom Sareee once encouraged during a period when the younger wrestler’s passion for the business had begun to fade, showed strong chemistry with her partners despite the loss. Sareee will face Hashimoto again in singles competition on November 16 at Korakuen Hall, setting up an intriguing one-on-one encounter between the freelancer and the Sendai Girls’ standout.

Following the event, Sareee announced her 15th anniversary show, SAREEE-ISM Chapter X, scheduled for March 22, 2026 at Yokohama Budokan, marking a major milestone in her career journey that began in 2011.

Bounceback for Former IWGP Women’s Champ

Sareee’s October tour included appearances at Marigold’s GRAND DESTINY 2025 on October 26, where she defeated Chika Goto, and STARDOM NIGHTER 2025 the following night, teaming with Miku Kanae for another victory. However, she lost the IWGP Women’s Championship to Syuri at NJPW King of Pro Wrestling in mid-October, ending her 100-day reign. Syuri became the first two-time champion in the title’s brief history with the victory.

“At a time when moving between these two promotions was considered unthinkable, I went out and did it,” Sareee told Tokyo Sports. “The fact that I could do this because I am at the very center of the women’s wrestling world right now has become a huge source of confidence.”

Monday’s Undercard Results

Recently departed from Marigold  MIRAI continued her sojourn as a freer Michinoku Pro signee with a technical submission victory over YuuRI. Meanwhile the veteran team of Kaoru Ito and STARDOM’s Bozilla threw their weight anroind against VENY and Nightshade, with the referee stopping the match as Bozilla overwhelmed VENY. Ito, a legendary figure in joshi wrestling, showed she still has plenty to offer alongside the powerhouse Bozilla.

The team (and Sareee understudy duo) of Chi Chi and Miku Kanae proved too much for Ranna Yagami and Akira Kurogane, with Kanae securing the win with a German Suplex Hold on Kurogane. Opening the card, Yurika Oka forced Selene Misora to submit to a Cross Armbreaker in a solid technical showcase.

Sareee has expressed interest in facing Marigold’s Mayu Iwatani, her contemporary who debuted the same year, though no match has been confirmed. “I am very interested in the fact that Mayu Iwatani has joined Marigold,” Sareee said. “She is the only one in the women’s pro wrestling world who started at the same time as me.“
