Saki Akai To Support Yuki Arai as a Fan After Retirement

Saki Akai has said that she will continue to support Yuki Arai following her retirement from wrestling.

Today at ALL RISE ’23, former Reiwa AA Cannon tag team partners Yuki Arai and Saki Akai had their only singles together which saw the soon-to-retire Akai pick up the victory over the SKE48 idol.

Following the match, Akai got onto the mic and spoke to her former partner: “Thank you for being my last Korakuen [Hall] opponent,” said Akai. “My career isn’t over just yet, so I couldn’t allow you to surpass me today,” she continued: “There’s a bright future waiting ahead of you, with lots of new experiences – and I hope you can take those experiences and use it as a source of your strength and growth in the ring moving forward. Please keep supporting Yuki Arai as she continues her career. The next time we meet I will support you as a fan. Thank you for today.”

Saki Akai’s retirement match is set to be DDT Ultimate Party, where she’ll team with Eruption stablemates Yukio Sakaguchi and Hideki Okatani against Miyu Yamashita, Naomichi Marufuji, and Kazusada Higuchi.
