After being with Marigold at it’s inception and spending nearly a year with the promotion, Bozilla jumped ship to STARDOM on June 21st when she made a surprise appearance. This did not sit well with Marigold owner Rossy Ogawa as he apparently harbours ill feelings towards Bozilla which came to light during a recent interview with Proresu Today.
A few months back, Marigold announced that Bozilla would be leaving for the time being to care for a sick family member back home in Germany. But now, as Ogawa pointed out, Bozilla may have had other plans for her leave of absence.
From Rossy Ogawa:
“She told us she wanted to return home a few days before the announcement. She said that a family member was sick and she needed to take care of them. But it seems like she went to America first, right? I think she only returned to Germany after her match in America. I got the feeling that she was planning to wrestle over there (overseas, including America).”
Ogawa was asked if there were plans to bring Bozilla back to Marigold and he claims that there weren’t any. Ogawa then indicated that Bozilla did not have any drawing power and said that they have had enough of her in Marigold. He said there were never any talks of her appearing in any other promotions but that’s what ultimately happened.
From Rossy Ogawa:
“No, no. There wasn’t. But we did talk about maybe if there was another opportunity someday. Contract? We didn’t have a contract. However, it was just around the time when her visa was about to expire, so from our perspective, we had used her up, or rather, we had enough. In fact, she was surprisingly not a wrestler who was relevant to drawing in the crowds (laughs). Talks about appearing in other promotions (overseas or in Japan)? There were none of those either. There weren’t, but of course, that’s what would happen.”
When Bozilla made her first appearance in STARDOM on June 21st, Ogawa indicated that he was not surprised. Ogawa figured she was going to eventually appear in another promotion even if it was the rival STARDOM. Then Ogawa took a another shot at Bozilla saying she had a number of rough matches at Marigold and hopes she doesn’t injure any wrestlers at STARDOM:
“It’s how foreign wrestlers operate, once they finish one territory they move on to the next. So I don’t really think anything of it. I assumed that she would appear somewhere eventually. Even if that place was STARDOM. Still, I thought it was quite fast (laughs). Plus, she has her dad (Ulf Herrman) as her manager. I think there were a lot of factors at play, such as her father’s intentions or strategies. Well, I guess it depends on how (STARDOM) will use her from now on. A chance to show her skills? Yes. For us, she had a lot of rough matches, so I just hope the wrestlers don’t get injured.”
A few months back, pro wrestling megastar Mayu Iwatani departed STARDOM to sign with Marigold. Many fans were under the assumption that it may have been a trade between the two promotions.
Ogawa was asked if the Iwatani signing and Bozilla departure were related. Giving a stern response, Ogawa denied that the two had any relation at all:
“It’s not a case of poaching, nor is it a trade. Iwatani’s joining us has nothing to do with (Bozilla). That is that, and this is this.”
From Ogawa’s statements, it’s quite obvious he is not happy about Bozilla leaving his promotion to join STARDOM. Ogawa seemingly feels betrayed by Bozilla which led to his harsh words towards her.
Bozilla, for her part, did offer a one word response on X:
There are two sides to every story and it’s almost a certainty that we can expect a full response from Bozilla in the near future.
