Rossy Ogawa Gives His Thoughts On Why Sareee Is Unpopular In STARDOM

The former IWGP Women’s Champion Sareee is without a doubt one of the best wrestlers in the world today. As a freelancer, she appears regularly in numerous promotions and is normally revered by fans she competes in front of with the exception of one promotion.

When wrestling inside a STARDOM ring, Sareee has become accustomed to hearing the boos from the crowd as she remains unpopular with the fans of the promotion. A perfect example of that was she was booed very loudly at Korakuen Hall when she faced H.A.T.E. faction member Momo Watanabe back on August 20th at the STARDOM 5 STAR GP 2025 tournament semi-finals.

One person who weighed in and gave his take on why Sareee is unpopular in STARDOM is current Marigold owner Rossy Ogawa. Ogawa is very familiar with Sareee as she was the first ever Marigold World Champion.

Ogawa was a guest on the Yasuaki Show Otani YouTube channel and was asked why he feels Sareee only gets booed in STARDOM. Ogawa gave his thoughts on what he felt is the reason why this is happening.

From Rossy Ogawa:

“I think it’s probably because many of STARDOM’s current fans only watch STARDOM. So because you have these passionate fans watching they don’t watch anything else. I think a lot of people don’t watch women wrestling as a whole, but only that promotion. That’s why this probably happens, because she is an outsider. However, in other promotions, Sareee’s presence is seen in many places. So they kind of accept her, you could say. That’s why, if the STARDOM fans themselves don’t welcome her, it’s probably not going to work out.”

Sareee lost the IWGP Women’s Title to Syuri on October 13th after holding it for 114 days. As she has competed in STARDOM since June 2025, it is unclear if we will see her back in the promotion now that she is no longer the IWGP Women’s Champion.
